The Onitsuka Tiger brand is a heritage label produced in 1949. During the 1950s and 60s the brand grew from strength to strength but the real launch were the Asics Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66 trainers for the Olympic games in the same year.

In the 70's the classic Mexico 66 in yellow and black were featured in the movie Game of death by Bruce Lee and later the same shoes were once again relaunched following the success of the cult movie Kill Bill, this established the Mexico 66 as a design classic.
